Sapsila settlement is located at the eastern part of Patmos lsland, approximately one and a half kilometer from Skala, where you find the commercial port of Patmos. Sapsila can be easily accessed; taking the main road from Skala to Grikos you notice the cute cove of the area on your left.
Sapsila is a typical seaside settlement of Patmos, with a quiet sandy beach and a tiny village, including a few picturesque whitewashed houses and traditional stone-built residences. An interesting fact about Sapsila’s beach: it is reputed as one of the two beaches on the island where the sea water is not as ice cold. Furthermore, Sapsila bay is rarely crowded; therefore it is an ideal place for those who seek tranquility and peace.
In the wider area, you may find several traditional taverns or restaurants, serving delicious seafood and traditional Greek delicacies while the public transport on the Island serves all visitors until late in the afternoon.
